Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 took attention with its stylish design and new leaks emerge about the Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable device, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will come with a periscope telephoto camera! The previous MIX Fold 2 has a telephoto camera as well but it’s only capable of taking 2x zoomed shots.

The recent leaks suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 5x telephoto camera. Foldable smartphones are considered premium devices, with their expensive price tags but they often lack a powerful camera system. Xiaomi seems to be addressing this issue by featuring a telephoto camera with a optical 5x zoom capability on their upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. Digital Chat Station recently shared a post on Weibo regarding this upcoming foldable.
What’s new about camera department of Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is not only the telephoto camera but also a selfie camera integrated into the inner display. While other foldable devices have it, this is a new addition to Xiaomi’s lineup of foldable devices. The previous Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 doesn’t have a selfie camera on the inner display. The users need to fold the phone in order to take selfies or make video calls by using the only selfie camera present on the outer display. The launch date of Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is still uncertain. What we do know so far is that it will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 5x periscope telephoto camera, and a selfie camera integrated into the inner display. In addition, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will feature 50W wireless charging. All the features seem very promising, but it’s still intriguing whether Xiaomi will succeed in incorporating these features and creating a thin foldable device just like the Fold 2.
