We might soon welcome the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 this year, but it could be called differently as it is believed to join the Xiaomi 17 series.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 was launched in 2024, but its successor was not introduced last year. Yet, according to reports, the next Mid Fold could arrive this year. As per a tipster, the phone was supposed to debut alongside the Xiaomi 17 Max in May. However, its launch is reportedly pushed to around early July.
The most interesting part of the news is the phone’s identity. To recall, it was spotted in the IMEI database under the “Pecan” codename and the 26023PN08C model number. The Xiaomi Mix Fold models usually carry the “PX” segment in their model numbers (e.g., 24072PX77C for the Mix Fold 4). However, the next Fold has a PN segment on its internal identification, which is the same one we see on the Xiaomi 17 series. This has led to speculation that the phone could be part of the said numbered lineup and be called the Xiaomi 17 Fold.
According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi 17 Fold/Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 could feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a larger battery, and an improved camera system. To recall, the current Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 offers the following:
