A new patent leak shows that Microsoft could be considering a new foldable smartphone model with a flexible display.
The Windows creator submitted a patent application for a foldable smartphone last January 15 in Europe. According to the document, the device employs a 360-degree rotation and a flexible display.
Based on the details shared, the device seems to employ a common folding solution. However, what’s special about it is the phone’s flexible display.
To recall, unlike modern models with one display, the original Microsoft Surface Duo and Microsoft Surface Duo 2 are both limited to two completely separate displays. Given this, the brand could soon debut its own one-screen flexible foldable.
Yet, we still urge our readers to take the matter with a pinch of salt, as patents don’t always guarantee that such ideas will see the light of day. Yet, if Microsoft pushes the plan, we may soon welcome a Microsoft smartphone with a flexible display under the Surface lineup.
