Honor Magic 8 series confirmed to debut in last quarter

Honor shared that the Honor Magic 8 series would be unveiled in the fourth quarter of the year.

Honor CMO Guo Rui shared the news, directly mentioning the timeframe in a recent post. It corroborates earlier leaks about the lineup, which is reportedly coming in mid-October.

According to reports, the series will have a dedicated AI button on the side frames. This is not surprising, given the brand’s recent efforts to inject different AI features into its latest creations. Honor CEO James Li also talked about the new AI capabilities and improvements the brand is preparing for its next releases.

Honor Magic 8 and Honor Magic 8 Pro could be the first series models to launch. Meanwhile, the Magic 8 Mini and Magic 8 Ultra could arrive in 2026. The first two devices are expected to be offered in black, white, cyan, and titanium colorways.

The vanilla model will arrive with a 6.59″ OLED. It is said to be a flat 1.5K screen with LIPO technology, a 120Hz refresh rate, and less than 1mm bezels.

The Pro model, meanwhile, allegedly has a 6.7″ display with 3D face recognition and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner support, a triple camera setup (50MP 1/1.3″ OmniVision OV50Q main camera + 50MP ultrawide + 200MP 1/1.4″  85mm periscope telephoto), a battery with a capacity of around 7000mAh, wireless charging, a Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology, a smooth frame transition, and a better focus speed and dynamic range.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro is also rumored to be the only Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone to arrive with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and a 3D ToF face recognition feature. A tipster also shared in the past that its camera system will now use less power, making it more efficient for users. Ultimately, it will feature 90W wired and 80W wireless charging support.
