Honor Magic 8 Pro to arrive with SD 8 Elite Gen 5, 3D ToF face recog, 3D ultrasonic scanner, more

The Honor Magic 8 Pro is reportedly going to impress in many ways. According to a new tip, it will be the only Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone to arrive with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and a 3D ToF face recognition feature.

Honor is now preparing its next Magic series. As expected, the lineup includes a Pro model, which will impress on many levels. According to earlier reports, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. This is not the only highlight of the handheld, nonetheless.

According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic 8 Pro will be the only model with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip to offer a combination of powerful authentication features, the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and 3D ToF face recognition. To recall, its predecessor, the Magic 7 Pro, also arrived with the then-new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip alongside the said 3D authentication solutions.

Aside from the said features, DCS also spilled the camera details of the said Magic 8 series phone. The account claimed that the phone will boast a 50MP 1/1.3″ main camera (reportedly a 50MP OmniVision OV50Q), which will be paired with a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP 1/1.4″  85mm periscope telephoto unit. Moreover, the tipster echoed earlier rumors that the handheld will house a huge battery, which has a 7000mAh+ capacity.

DCS also previously shared that the handheld boasts Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology, a smooth frame transition, and better focus speed and dynamic range. The account also revealed that the camera system will now use less power, making it more efficient for users. Ultimately, it will feature 90W wired and 80W wireless charging support.
