Huawei Mate 80 series tentatively scheduled for November

New rumors circulating in China claim that the Huawei Mate 80 series could be announced next month.

Earlier reports suggest that the upcoming Mate 80 lineup is now in the works. According to rumors, the Chinese giant could introduce a handful of upgrades in the models.

While the company still hasn’t shared the details of the series, a new leak says that it could arrive by the end of October. Nonetheless, according to a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, the debut timeline is still tentative.

According to earlier tips, the series will use the Kirin 9030 chip, which should offer 20% better performance than its predecessor. The models are also expected to offer eSIM support in China, and their batteries are rumored to start at 6000mAh. The main highlight of the series is its alleged unique design, wherein Huawei is reportedly planning to include a waterproof cooling fan in the circular camera island.

The series is expected to offer four models: the Huawei Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro+, and Mate 80 RS. The vanilla and Pro models will employ 50MP 1/1.5″ and 50MP 1/1.3″ main cameras. The Pro+ and RS models, on the other hand, are rumored to come with a 50MP 1/1.3″ SmartSens 590 sensor.

As for their displays, the Pro variant is said to be coming with a 2.5D flat display. For the Mate 80 Pro+ and Mate 80 RS, DCS noted that there’s still no official decision for their displays, but flat 2.5D and 4D equal-depth displays are now being tested.
