The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is now official in China, and it comes with a special Leica Edition variant, which further highlights its camera-focused capabilities.
It joined the Xiaomi 17 series as the top-notch model in the lineup. It arrived flaunting a powerful triple camera system, which boasts a 50MP 1” Light Fusion 1050L main unit with the LOFIC ultra-high dynamic range technology. It is paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a 75-100mm 200MP Samsung HPE 1/1.4” periscope telephoto with a continuous optical zoom. In front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera on its 6.9” M10 AMOLED screen.
Its photography power is further underscored in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, which, although it offers the same camera specifications as the standard Ultra, comes with additional features, such as 3:2 Leica Moment modes and dual-satellite communication. It also features a mechanical zoom ring, allowing users to directly adjust its exposure, focal length, and white balance. As usual, the special variant comes with a retro design, highlighted by its dual-tone back panel. The package also comes with additional accessories, such as a magnetic case, a lens cover, and more.
In other sections, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra also impresses, thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, 6800mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, 22.5W wired reverse charging, and IP66/IP68/IP69 ratings.
The standard Ultra model comes in Black, White, Cool Smoke Purple, and Starry Green options. Its configurations include 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB, priced at CN¥6,999 ($995), CN¥7,499 ($1,065), and CN¥8,499 ($1,210), respectively.
The Leica Edition, on the other hand, comes in Black and White options. It is available in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations, which are priced at CN¥7,999 ($1,140) and CN¥8,999 ($1,280), respectively. Sales will start on December 27 via Xiaomi’s official website.
