New Redmi Note 17 series details confirmed

Xiaomi has revealed more details about the upcoming Redmi Note 17 series.

The lineup will be unveiled in China on July 14. Days ahead of the event, the brand has confirmed that the Pro model will feature an extra-large 9000mAh battery. It will also offer 67W wired and 22.5W wired reverse charging support. To compare, its predecessor, the Note 15 Pro, offers a 7000mAh battery with 45W wired and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

The huge cell will keep the lights on for its 1.5K display, which reaches 3500nits peak brightness. This will be much brighter than the 6.83″ 2772x1280px (1.5K) 120Hz AMOLED with 3200nits peak brightness of its predecessor. The phone is also expected to have IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. In a recent clip, the brand tested the durability and water-pressure resistance of its display.

The vanilla Redmi Note 17 was also recently spotted on Geekbench, testing a chip believed to be the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. The SoC was paired with 12GB RAM and Android 16-based HyperOS, securing 1027 and 3002 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

In related news, a Redmi official suggests the series will see a price hike. To recall, the Redmi Note 15 series was slapped with a face hike in China in July. Now, the vanilla starts at CN¥1399 (from CN¥1099), while the Pro and Pro+ variants now have base prices of CN¥1799 (from CN¥1499) and CN¥2299 (from CN¥1999), respectively.
