According to a new tip, Xiaomi is planning a huge change for its upcoming Xiaomi 18 series, including the lineup and its debut timeline in India.
The series is rumored to be unveiled in September. Interestingly, a new tip says that it will be announced in India in December. This will be much earlier, unlike the launches of earlier lineups, which occurred the following year.
Moreover, the lineup will reportedly drop the Xiaomi 18 Ultra. The series will include the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The camera-focused Ultra model will allegedly be replaced by the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max as the top-of-the-line variant.
Even more, India is allegedly getting the Pro Max model. To recall, the current Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (including the Pro) is still exclusive to China. With this, such a change will be monumental, especially since the rear-display-equipped Pro series is a huge success in China.
Sadly, the tip says that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be distributed in limited quantities in India. Hopefully, the news means the Pro devices will also be offered worldwide.
