HMD has introduced two new devices this week. While the HMD Touch AI landed in China, the Nokia 123 Shield debuted globally.
The Touch AI is a compact 4G phone with a 3.2″ touchscreen display. The device is said to be inspired by the retro Lumia design, giving it a brick-like look with rounded sides.
Despite its size, it packs a handful of AI capabilities and other features, including Alipay, WiFi, translator, Music app, parental controls, AI image recognition, hotspot, photo enhancement, and AI image generation. The phone also comes with a 2MP main camera, a 2MP selfie camera, two SIM slots, and a 1950mAh battery.
The phone is now available for pre-order in China for CN¥469.
Meanwhile, the Nokia 123 Shield is said to be the brand’s most affordable water and dust-resistant feature phone. According to the company, it “meets the requirements of IP65 rating under IEC standard 60529.”
It is being advertised as a rugged feature model for workers. In addition to its resistance against elements, the phone also offers an anti-slip build and a port protection seal.
The handheld comes with a Unisoc SC6531E chip, 4GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, expandable storage up to 32GB via a microSD card, a 2.4″ QVGA display, a QVGA camera with LED, S30+ OS, a 1750 mAh removable battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, wired and wireless FM radio, and dual SIM support.
The Nokia 123 Shield is now in Europe, including Bulgaria and Greece, where it is priced around €40.
