Xiaomi 18 Pro series teaser confirms rear display feature ahead of Sept. launch

Xiaomi has started teasing the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, which will adopt the same secondary screen as its predecessor.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max models are expected to arrive this month (the standard Xiaomi 18 variant is coming in December), as Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed earlier. Lu Weibing, Partner & President of Xiaomi Group, has now reiterated this.

According to a short clip shared by Xiaomi, the series will also feature the rear display we saw on the Xiaomi 17 Pro series. It is placed at the upper part of the back panel and has two lenses located in the screen space.

The most interesting part is the word “Generating” written on the display. This supports earlier leaks that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series’ rear display would support more AI features.

According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max would hit the global shelves this time. Some of the markets expected to welcome the phone include Europe, Turkey, Russia, Japan, Taiwan, and more. However, India is allegedly not on the list, albeit it is still expected to get the Pro Max.

According to earlier leaks, the Xiaomi 18 Pro will be armed with a 2nm chip, believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. On its back, it will house a 200MP large-sensor main camera and a 200MP telephoto macro unit. It is also equipped with a huge battery with a starting capacity of 7000mAh, as well as 100W wired charging and wireless charging support. It will also inherit its predecessor’s rear display, with reports suggesting it will offer more features and AI capabilities.
