Confirmed: OnePlus 16 getting huge battery bump

A company executive has revealed that the upcoming OnePlus 16 will have a significant battery upgrade.

The OnePlus smartphone will launch on October 12. Recently, the brand has been teasing its powerful camera by sharing sample photos. However, its camera department is not the only area expected to impress the tech world upon its arrival.

According to OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis, the phone also houses a massive 9000mAh battery. This is a huge improvement over the OnePlus 15’s 7300mAh cell. This should allow the phone to last longer, especially now that it will come with a better Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip.

As previously reported, the OnePlus 16 will feature 100W wired and 50W wireless charging and Android 17-based ColorOS 17. In addition to the 185Hz display, the phone is also said to have a self-developed three-chip esports system that manages touch response, networking, and display processing.

Moreover, according to the brand, it comes with a 200MP 1/1.4” main camera with an f/1.6 aperture, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 116-degree field of view. In front, it features a 50MP selfie camera.

It will be offered in Dark Forest (black), Mars Masterpiece (orange), and Tomorrow Starlight (grey) shades. The phone is now ready for pre-order. It comes in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB options.
