Honor 500 Pro to feature 6.5” display, 8000mAh battery, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, more

New details about the Honor 500 Pro model have emerged, including information about its display, battery, chip, and more.

The Honor 500 series is expected to arrive soon. While the brand remains silent about the models of the lineup, several recent leaks have been gradually unveiling their specifications.

The latest tip comes from Digital Chat Station, who revealed the upgrades the Pro variant is getting this year. According to him, like the other claims say, the phone will house the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The phone is also said to feature a 6.5” display, which will be complemented by a metal frame. Moreover, from the optical fingerprint scanner in the Honor 400 Pro, the new Pro model is said to be getting an ultrasonic sensor this time.

DCS also revealed that the phone will feature a massive 8000mAh battery, similar to its vanilla sibling. Ultimately, the phone is allegedly equipped with a 200MP main camera, paired with a periscope lens. As per reports, the phone is expected to feature a 200MP 1/1.4″ main camera, allegedly paired with a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom.

According to DCS last month, the Honor 500 series would be “stronger” than the Honor 400 models. To recall, the Honor 400 is limited to an IP66 rating, while the Honor Pro has IP68 and IP69 ratings.

Sadly, the series is allegedly coming with a price hike. As per Digital Chat Station, “imaging, performance, battery, and peripherals” have all been improved, and each section is “using top-tier components in its class.” To this end, the account noted that there may be a possible price increase in the series. To recall, the Honor 400 starts at CN¥2499 in China for its 12GB/256GB configuration, while the base 12GB/256GB option of the Pro costs CN¥3399.
