Honor 500 series unveiled in China

The Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro have finally arrived in their domestic market, following several teasers from the brand.

The company announced the new Honor phones in China this week, but they come with a completely different design from their predecessors. The latest models boast an iPhone 17 Air-like design, thanks to their horizontal pill-shaped camera islands. The Pro model, however, sports more circular cutouts in the module due to its three-camera setup.

Aside from a better camera system, the Pro model also features the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The standard model, meanwhile, gets the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. Nonetheless, both models come with a huge 8000mAh battery, which supports 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The Pro model gets 50W wireless charging and wireless reverse charging.

The two Honor smartphones are available in four color options: Aquamarine, Starlight Powder, Moonlight Silver, and Obsidian Black. The vanilla model comes in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/512GB, priced at CN¥2699 ($380), CN¥2999 ($422), and CN¥3299 ($646), respectively. The Pro variant also has the same options (priced at CN¥3599/$506, CN¥3899/$549, CN¥4199/$590, respectively), but it includes an additional 16GB/1TB option, which costs CN¥4799 ($675).
