Honor 500 series chip, design, other details tipped

Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station discussed the Honor 500 series in a recent teaser post in China.

According to the leaker, the upcoming Honor series is expected to arrive by the end of the year. DCS claimed that the design of the entire lineup would be upgraded this time.

The tipster also claimed that the series’ craftsmanship would be comparable to Apple’s iPhones, so we expect some appealing specifications in the upcoming devices. These improvements could cover the phone’s design, battery, processor, camera, and more.

DCS also suggested that the series would be “stronger” than the Honor 400 models. To recall, the Honor 400 is limited to an IP66 rating, while the Honor Pro has IP68 and IP69 ratings. This could mean that both the 500 and 500 Pro would soon offer the same high-protection ratings or higher.

Ultimately, DCS affirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 being used by the current Honor 400 Pro model would be upgraded. The account didn’t provide any hint about the chip that will be used for the 500 Pro, but speculations point to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
