Honor has showcased all the key features of the upcoming Honor Robot Phone. Meanwhile, the handheld’s unboxing clip has emerged online.
The smartphone is set to launch officially in China on August 12. Ahead of the date, the brand discussed the model’s cinematic camera system at an event in Hengdian, Zhejiang.
As the brand has shared in the past, the device’s camera department was developed with the support of ARRI, a premier German manufacturer and global brand specializing in high-end motion picture cameras and media services for the film and broadcast industry.
According to Honor, it combined its computing technology with ARRI’s color science to ensure that users can experience the best of film creation, from pre-production shooting to post-production color grading. Some of the features the Honor Robot Phone will offer include the ARRI Cinema Mode, ARRI LogC3, LUT color grading files, focus lock, white balance lock, AE lock, AI object tracking, AI video editing, and intelligent shooting.
The brand also confirmed earlier rumors that the technology will be carried to its other future devices, including the Honor Magic 9 series.
The device sports a 200MP 1/1.28″ f/1.6 CMOS main camera with a built-in 23mm 4D gimbal system, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto unit. According to Honor, the phone will be the first to use its self-developed Honor Yuguang H1 chip.
A leaked unboxing clip of the device has also been circulating in China. The video shows the device’s premium packaging, which includes a charging cable, a charging brick, and a phone case.
The clip also demonstrates the phone’s gimbal camera system, which unfolds with a single tap. The gimbal-armed camera can also be seen reacting in real-time to counteract unnecessary movements when it is moved.
According to reports, the Honor Robot Phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Its display measures only 6.3 to 6.4 inches and boasts a 1.5K resolution and extremely thin bezels. Ultimately, it will house a 6000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.
The device is now available for pre-order in China.
