Despite being secretive about its chips, a leak has revealed what SoC powers Huawei’s new Nova 14 Ultra model.
The Huawei Nova 14 series debuted recently, giving the Chinese market a total of three models. The lineup includes the Huawei Nova 14 Ultra, which offers the most impressive set of specs, including up to 1TB storage and IP68/69 ratings. However, as expected, the Chinese giant didn’t reveal the phone’s processor details during the launch, leaving fans clueless about it.
Yet, a new leak from China confirms that the new Kirin 8020 chip actually powers the phone. It is an underclocked Kirin 9020 chip being used in the Huawei Mate 70 lineup. The chip features a 1+3+4 CPU setup, which includes a 2.29GHz prime core, three 2.05GHz cores, and four 1.3GHz efficiency cores. It also has the Maleoon 920 GPU, which is clocked at 840MHz, and caters to Beidou and Tiantong satellite communication features.
According to reports, the new chip delivers 23%, 39%, and 35% improvement in gaming, operating fluency, and overall performance compared to the earlier Huawei SoC.
