Huawei Nova 16 SE debuts with 8500mAh cell, 50MP cam, satellite comm, more

The Huawei Nova 16 SE has been launched in China as the latest addition to the series.

The new device joins the Huawei Nova 16 series, which earlier welcomed four models in the country. In addition to its huge 8500mAh battery, the phone boasts a super bright 6.84″ 120Hz AMOLED with up to 8000nits peak brightness.

It is powered by the Kirin 8020 chip and runs HarmonyOS 6.1. Inside, there is also a 50MP main camera that works alongside a 1.5MP Red Maple color sensor. In front, on the other hand, there is a 32MP selfie sensor. Given that it is in China, it is no surprise that the phone also supports two-way satellite messaging.

Other highlights of the phone include 66W charging support, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 7, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an IP65 rating.

The phone comes in Cherry Blossom Snow Sky, Dawn Orange, Starry Night Black, and Sky White, with storage options including 128GB (CN¥2,499/$370), 256GB (CN¥2,699/$400), and 512GB (CN¥3,199/$475).
