The installation can be done via the updater if you are Mi Pilot, otherwise using TWRP.

Android 12 Stable Expected Release Date
Android 12 stable version will be released with MIUI 13. In the MIUI 13 Global presentation, Mi 11 will receive the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update. It will definitely be introduced on December 28 for China. Globally, it is expected to be introduced towards the end of January.
