According to a tipster, the OnePlus 16 and OnePlus 16R could soon be announced in India.
The news is quite a surprise, especially since earlier reports said the OnePlus 16 would not be coming to India. Nonetheless, a new claim says that there will be two OnePlus flagships that will be presented in the country.
One will be the OnePlus 16, which will debut in China today. According to earlier reports, the phone will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, four configurations (12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB), a BOE X4 1.5K LTPO OLED with up to 185Hz (165Hz default) refresh rate in gaming mode (for games like Naruto Mobile, Hearthstone, Minecraft, Plants vs. Zombies 2, Carrot Fantasy, Clash of Clans, Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage, Rhythm Master, Temple Run, Legends of the Three Kingdoms, and Subway Surfers), 1.15mm thin bezels, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a 9000mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP selfie camera, IP66/68/69/69K ratings, ColorOS 17-based Android 17, and three colors (Tomorrow’s Star, Martian Masterpiece, and Dark Forest).
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 16R is allegedly the brand’s second flagship in India. The device allegedly offers a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 6.78” flat 1.5K 185Hz OLED, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, a 9000mAh battery, 100W charging, a metal frame, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
According to the tip, the phones could arrive in December or in early 2027.
