OnePlus and Oppo are planning to expand the coverage support of the bypass charging feature in their models.
Bypass charging is a relatively new feature among smartphones. The capability enables supported units to directly draw power from the supply source, allowing them to conserve battery life, prevent overheating, and maintain the handheld at optimal levels. However, this currently only supports gaming.
This should change soon, as one Oppo employee confirmed that the brand has a plan to expand coverage to other areas, including video watching and more. According to him, it will arrive via an OTA update, and will cover Oppo Find X9, Oppo Find X8, Oppo Find X7, Oppo Reno 15, OnePlus Ace 5, OnePlus Ace 6, OnePlus Ace 6T, Oppo Pad 5, Oppo Pad 4 Pro, OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13T, Oppo Find N5, Oppo Reno 14, Oppo Reno 13, OnePlus Ace 3, and more.
