Realme 16T to get downgraded chip

Instead of an upgrade, a new leak suggests that the Realme 16T will have a chip older than its predecessor’s.

The Realme model is now being developed, as recent reports suggested. Now, the device has appeared on Geekbench, revealing an Android 16 OS, 8GB RAM, and the RMX5268 model number. The main highlight of the discovery is its CPU, which features two 2.4GHz performance cores and six 2.0GHz efficiency cores. The chip is believed to be the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, which is bad news since the Realme 15T uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6400.

The memory price hike continues to plague smartphone makers, prompting recent price adjustments across several models. It is unknown whether the same will happen to the Realme 16T, but if it does, the brand must justify it with significant upgrades in other areas of the phone.

According to a recent leak, the device will be available in Starlight Red, Starlight Black, and Aurora Green. Its configurations will allegedly include 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.
