The Xiaomi 15 series is expected to enter mass production in September, with its release scheduled to be in October. According to earlier reports, the company is now heavily working on the phone, with various leakers revealing the details that seem to be arriving in the final output of the units. One includes the Leica-powered camera system of the smartphone, which is believed to offer a 1-inch 50 MP OV50K main camera alongside 1/2.76-inch 50 MP JN1 ultrawide and 1/2-inch OV64B periscope telephoto lenses.
Lakers claim that Xiaomi 15 Pro will also have thinner frames than competitors, with its bezels set to be as thin as 0.6mm. If true, this will be thinner than the 1.55mm bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Meanwhile, as claimed earlier, the series is said to get a satellite emergency communication feature. Apple first introduced the feature to the market through its iPhone 14 series, but Chinese smartphone manufacturers are starting to adopt it as well. Aside from Xiaomi, Huawei is reportedly planning to inject the capability into its P70 series as well.
Aside from the details above, leakers shared that the entire Xiaomi 15 series will be getting an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. It was first reported as coming to the Xiaomi 14 series, but it failed to reach the final stage. Nonetheless, with the new series now in progress, there’s hope it will be the year for the said feature. Ultimately, the series should arrive with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, further making the lineup a promising release this year.
