Live units of the Xiaomi 17 series have surfaced online, giving us an actual look at the lineup models ahead of their official unveiling.
The news follows the brand’s announcement about the series’ launch date, which is on September 25. The company also shared some official posters of the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max to reveal their design and colorways. Now, a new leak gives us a peek at the actual units of the said models.
As reported and shown in past reports, the vanilla model slightly retains the design of its predecessor by having a similar square-shaped camera island in the upper left corner of its back panel. The Pro and Pro Max, meanwhile, both have rear displays, which house two circular cutouts placed vertically. The former, nonetheless, is smaller compared to the Pro Max.
The series is expected to include the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, which would house 7000mAh, 6300mAh, and 7500mAh batteries, respectively. The entire series will also support 100W charging and use the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.
The Pro and Pro Max are reportedly sharing similarities in their camera systems, but the latter is expected to get a better telephoto unit. According to a leak, the Pro model boasts a triple 50MP Leica camera setup with a 50MP f/1.67 main camera, a 17mm ultrawide, and an f3.0 115mm telephoto unit with a 5X optical zoom. The Pro Max model is also said to house the same main and ultrawide Leica camera units. However, the variant is rumored to have a better telephoto with a wider f/2.6 aperture.
