Xiaomi 18 to get bigger display; Pro series to feature improved display, dual 200MP cams

A reputable leaker shared details about the upcoming Xiaomi 18 series.

Some flagship lineups are expected to arrive in September, including the Xiaomi 18 series. According to Digital Chat Station, there will be some upgrades to the models. To start, the vanilla model is rumored to feature a larger flat display measuring 6.4 inches. It is said to offer a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, ultra-narrow bezels, and 2K resolution. To compare, the Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3” flat 1.5K 1-120Hz OLED with 3500nits peak brightness and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. There will also be an upgraded battery, starting at 7000mAh. 

DCS also reiterated earlier reports that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will feature “improvements” to its rear displays. As reported earlier, the secondary screens will be bigger and have more capabilities, including AI features. 

The Pro devices are also expected to come with a better camera system. DCS claims that there will be two 200MP sensors, likely for the main and telephoto units. To recall, the current Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 50MP Light Hunter 950L ƒ/1.67 23mm main camera with OIS; a 50MP ƒ/3.0 periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 20cm macro, and OIS; and a 50MP ƒ/2.4 102° ultrawide. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max features a 50MP Light Hunter 950L ƒ/1.67 23mm main camera with OIS; a 50MP ƒ/2.6 periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 30cm telephoto macro, and OIS; and a 50MP ƒ/2.4 102° ultrawide.
