Xiaomi 18 Pro to get improved camera, bigger battery

A reputable tipster shared the details of the enlarged battery and enhanced camera system of the Xiaomi 18 Pro.

The series is expected to arrive in the second half of the year. While the Chinese giant is busy preparing the models, various information about the devices continues to emerge online. The latest involves the Pro model of the lineup.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the 2nm model will have a battery with a starting capacity of 7000mAh. If true, this will be a huge upgrade over the 6300mAh battery of the Xiaomi 17 Pro. DCS claimed that it will also support 100W wired charging, as well as wireless charging. To recall, its predecessor offers 100W wired, 50W wireless,  22.5W wired reverse, and 22.5W wireless reverse charging.

The device is also said to offer two 200MP cameras, likely the primary and periscope lens. The phone is also said to have micro capabilities. Yet, as per an earlier report, it will feature a less powerful periscope camera with only 85mm focal length (vs. 17 Pro’s 50MP periscope telephoto unit with a 115mm focal length). As such, instead of the 5x optical zoom, we expect the next Xiaomi Pro series models to only offer 3x optical zoom.

To compare, the 17 Pro has a 50MP Light Hunter 950L ƒ/1.67 23mm main camera with OIS; a 50MP ƒ/3.0 periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 20cm macro, and OIS; and a 50MP ƒ/2.4 102° ultrawide.

Other details expected from the phone include a 200MP 1/1.28″ lens with LOFIC HDR 3.0 support, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, and a rear display with AI features.
