Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor explain price hikes in China

Xiaomi, Huawei, and Honor have recently increased the prices of several smartphone models in China.

News about price increases is not new in the smartphone industry, especially in recent months. To recall, there is a global RAM shortage driven by massive demand from AI data centers, resulting in a shortage for smartphone manufacturers.

Recently, three Chinese giants have simultaneously adjusted the prices of several models. In line with this, Xiaomi, Huawei, and Honor explained the reason behind the move.

According to Xiaomi, the price hike is due to rising procurement costs for core components, prompting it to adjust its product prices.

Huawei echoed the same reason, saying it is due to adjustments in the market price of key materials. 

Honor, meanwhile, states that the product prices are subject to adjustment based on market demand.

To recall, the three brands have adjusted the prices of the following products: 

Xiaomi 17 series

  • Xiaomi 17: CN¥5,099 (from CN¥4,799)
  • Xiaomi 17 Pro: CN¥5,699 (from CN¥5,399)
  • Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: CN¥6,999 (from CN¥6,499)
  • Xiaomi 17T: CN¥3,499 (from CN¥3,299)

Redmi models

  • Redmi K90 Max: CN¥3,899 (from CN¥3,499)
  • Redmi K90 Ultra: CN¥3,699 (from CN¥3,299)
  • Redmi Turbo 5 Max: CN¥2,999 (from CN¥2,799)

Huawei Enjoy 90 Pro Max

  • 128GB: CN¥1,899 (from CN¥1,699)
