If you think the global variant of the Honor Magic 8 Pro already has a smaller battery than its Chinese counterpart, you’ll be surprised that the European version will have a much smaller cell. Furthermore, both versions are gaining support for slower charging.
The Honor Magic 8 series is now available in China, and the Pro model is set to debut on the global stage soon. Europe is also set to get its own version. As expected, nonetheless, these variants will differ from the Chinese versions in several ways, including the battery and charging details of the phones.
It is worth recalling that the Magic 8 Pro arrived in China with a 7200mAh battery, which supports 120W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and wireless reverse charging. Now, according to a new report, the global version is set to feature a smaller 7100mAh battery, while the European variant will have a lower battery capacity of 6270mAh. This translates to a 12% lower battery capacity than its Chinese counterpart, but it still represents a significant increase over the 5270mAh battery of the Magic 7 Pro (European version).
The charging power of the global and European variants is reportedly reduced to 100W (down from 120W in China). Thankfully, both variants are said to offer 80W wireless charging still.
