Huawei reportedly working on a non-foldable phone with 16:10 aspect ratio

According to a reputable leaker, Huawei will soon unveil a Pura X-like model, but it will be non-foldable.

The Huawei Pura X was launched in China in March 2025. It boasts a unique 16:10 screen ratio, measuring 143.2mm x 91.7mm when unfolded and 91.7mm x 74.3mm when folded. This makes it shorter but wider than other models.

It has a 6.3″ main display and a 3.5″ external screen. It also features a trio of rear cameras with a 50MP main unit,  a 4720mAh battery, and support for 66W wired and 40W wireless charging.

The phone’s distinctive size seems to have attracted the market, and the Chinese brand is now reportedly working on its successor, the Pura X2. Interestingly, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station claims that Huawei also has another phone with the same 16:10 screen ratio, but it won’t have a foldable display.

If true, this is an interesting perspective for Chinese manufacturers, as it suggests there’s a growing market for 16:10 devices. To recall, DCS earlier claimed that the original Pura X had surpassed 1 million unit sales, despite being exclusive in China.

Sadly, the details of the non-foldable 16:10 smartphone remain unknown, but we expect to hear more about it in the coming days. Stay tuned!
