Redmi Note 17 series going global next week

Xiaomi has confirmed the global launch date for the Redmi Note 17 series.

The microsite for the series on Xiaomi’s global website says the series will be unveiled on August 27. One of the variants confirmed on the page is the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, which will feature a gigantic 10,000mAh battery.

The brand also says that the phone will feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip, 12GB RAM (other options expected), a 6.83″ 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED, a 50MP main camera, 100W charging support, a 3-meter drop resistance, and IP66/68/69/69K ratings. 

The other models of the series remain unnamed, but it can be recalled that India has the vanilla Note 17, which has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, a 10,416 mm² graphite cooling system, a 6.9″ 120Hz AMOLED display, storage expansion support up to 2TB via a microSD card, 45W wired fast charging, 22.5W wired reverse charging, an 8MP selfie camera, and a 50MP main camera. Other highlights of the phone include its HydroTouch 2.0 tech support, Android 16-based HyperOS 3, an IP65 rating, four Android OS upgrades, and six years of security updates.

The standard model is also available in China, but it is accompanied by the Pro variant. The latter comes with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, a 6.83″ 2772x1280px  120Hz AMOLED with an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, 50MP main camera, an 8MP selfie camera, a 9000mAh battery, 67W wired and 22.5W wired reverse charging, and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings.
