According to new tipster data, the iQOO 16 sold only 50% as much as the iQOO 15 did during the same period.
The new iQOO flagship is now official in China and is set to debut globally soon. However, it seems the phone didn’t get as much traction as its predecessor did on its first day on the market.
According to the leaker account @RDObservation, the new iQOO model sold only 50% of what the iQOO 15 collected during the same period. On a positive note, the leak suggests the phone had the same sales percentage as the iQOO 13 during the first day.
To recall, Vivo introduced upgrades to the iQOO 16, including the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. iQOO also brought improvements in the camera department with the addition of a bigger 50MP main 1/1.3” camera with OIS. It works alongside a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom. Compared to the iQOO 15, which has a 7000mAh cell, the new device also packs a larger 8400mAh battery.
Sadly, it arrived with a much higher price tag than its predecessor. While the iQOO 13 debuted with a base price of CN¥4199/$626, the iQOO16 now starts at CN¥5999/$894.
According to recent reports, the phone will even be priced higher globally. According to the leak, it will cost nearly ₹100,000 (1,039) in India. This is a huge jump from the iQOO15’s debut price, which started at only ₹72,999 ($758).
