As you all may or may not know, MIUI Launcher gets updates oftenly. In this week, MIUI 13.5 Launcher animations that has way better looking feel and better smoothness and such were added. Or alternatively, it’s named as “Animation rate” on the settings. But the isssue was that it wasn’t enabled for all devices. We already found a way to enable it on any device without root and such by using some small tricks.
How to enable MIUI 13.5 Launcher animations
It’s pretty easy to do it, and so you just need to follow the steps properly.
First of all we need to setup LADB so we can grant system level permissions to SetEdit application to edit values, so here’s how you do it. Once you’re done with that, type in
pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS on LADB. This should grant needed permissions to the SetEdit app. Once you’re done with that, we can now start the process.
- Enter SetEdit app.
- Tap the “Global Table” on top right, and go to “System Table” section.
- Scroll down until you find the value named “miui_home_animation_rate”.
- Once you found it, tap on it.
- Tap “Edit value”.
- Set the value to 1 from 0.
- Tap “Save changes”.
- Now, force stop the system launcher.
- Hold an empty space on home screen.
- Go to settings.
- Tap “More”.
- And there you go! MIUI 13.5 Launcher animations should be unlocked now.
A small note that you need to keep in mind, it doesn’t work on every device and every MIUI version, and only tested for china beta builds of MIUI. You need to try it yourselves to see if it will work on you or not. If it doesn’t, there’s currently no avaible way of enabling it with a workaround without root. Although for root users, you can try flashing latest test SipolloMod which seems to be working fine as well. Here’s also the guide on how to flash Magisk modules incase of you don’t know how to.
And that’s it, you should have the new MIUI 13.5 Launcher animations enabled now on your device with simple steps.
