Huawei Mate XT 2 spec upgrades, debut timeline tipped

A tipster from China has revealed alleged details about the upcoming Huawei Mate XT 2.

The original Huawei Mate XT debuted in September 2024, and its successor, the Mate XTs, arrived in September last year. According to reports, the next trifold of the Chinese giant is now in the works.

Though its official moniker remains a mystery, a tipster calls it the Mate XT 2. The leak also says the phone is likely launching a bit later than its predecessor, possibly in October.

The tipster also says there will be upgrades to the phone, including a new Kirin 9050 Pro chip, a larger 6000mAh battery, and a noticeably reduced crease due to “significantly improved” hinge technology. The tip also says that its camera can match the performance of the Mate X7, which features a 50MP f1.4-f4.0 RYYB main camera with OIS, a 40MP RYYB ultrawide, and a 50MP f2.2 RYYB telephoto macro with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom.
