Official: No RSR Porsche Design in Magic 9 series

According to an Honor official, the Honor Magic 9 series will not have an RSR Porsche Design variant.

The lineup recently debuted in China, bringing us the Honor Magic 9 Super Edition, Honor Magic 9, and Honor Magic 9 Pro Max. Usually, the brand will present the RSR Porsche Design variant of the series months later. However, Lin Lin (Minister of Honor China Smart Life Business Department) confirmed through an answer to a fan’s question on Weibo that this year’s Magic 9 series won’t have its own RSR model.

Worse, it seems the RSR Porsche Design will no longer appear in the Honor series, following the end of Honor’s partnership with Porsche.

To recall, the variant started in the Honor Magic 6 and continued in the Magic 8 series. The variant is based on the Pro models, but offers a premium look with the addition of the Porsche Design elements.

Last year, the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design arrived with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Its 50MP main camera with OIS came with a 200MP telephoto with OIS and 3.7x optical zoom. It also brought the HONOR C1+ self-developed RF enhancement chip, a 6.71” FHD+ 120Hz OLED, and a 7200mAh battery.
