Oppo has promised to bring the next Find X flagship to the global market. Now, a claim suggests that the upcoming Oppo Find X8 Ultra could match and outperform the Vivo X100 Ultra’s camera prowess. According to a leaker, this would be possible through the Oppo device’s enhanced periscope telephoto camera system.
Days ago, Oppo confirmed that the Oppo Reno 12 series and its next flagship phone, the Find X8, would go global. The company did not share other details about the debut, but reports claimed that the Find X8 would be announced in 2025.
When it arrives, leaker account Digital Chat Station believes that the phone will end the reign of the Vivo X100 Ultra. To recall, the model is now one of the most powerful camera phones in the industry, thanks to its 1/0.98” type main camera with Sony’s LYT-900 sensor (f/1.75 aperture and 23mm focal length) and gimbal stabilization, 200MP periscope with the 1/1.4″ ISOCELL HP9 sensor (f/2.67 aperture and an 85mm equivalent focal length, Zeiss APO certification, and Zeiss T* coating) and 3.7x optical zoom, and more.
DCS, however, shared in a post that the Oppo Find X8 Ultra would have a better periscope telephoto camera. Unfortunately, the tipster did not specify the system of the said model.
Despite that, given Find X7 Ultra’s past achievement in the DxOMark ranking, the leaker’s allegations could mean that the Oppo Find X8 Ultra will indeed be powerful. To recall, the Find X7 Ultra is armed with a primary 50MP 1″ sensor (23mm equivalent f/1.8-aperture lens, AF, OIS), an ultra-wide 50MP 1/1.95″ sensor (14mm equivalent f/2-aperture lens, AF), a 50MP 1/1.56″ periscope telephoto (65mm equivalent f/2.6-aperture lens, AF, OIS), and another 50MP 1/2.51″ periscope telephoto (135mm equivalent f/4.3-aperture lens, AF, OIS). In its review, DxOMark noted that the model reached the highest scores in its portrait/group, indoor, and lowlight tests.
