Google is experiencing issues with its Pixel 9 and 10 series, prompting the search giant to extend its repair program for the former.
The company attempted to address some known issues in its Pixel 6 series and subsequent lineups. However, following the release of the December Pixel update, Pixel 10 series users are now reporting that they are experiencing unresponsive touch displays, specifically on the Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro. According to one user, the device can still be turned on and the camera can still be launched via the Power Button, confirming the issue is limited to the responsiveness of the display.
According to users, the issue doesn’t happen when the phones are in your hands or in your pockets. However, when left locked and idled for some time, the affected models become unresponsive. This issue can be temporarily resolved by rebooting and disabling the “always-on” feature.
While the company remains silent about the issue, it has now started offering an extended repair program for Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL models with display problems, including display flickering and vertical green lines. According to the company, such devices are eligible for up to three years of repair program from the date of purchase. However, the program is somewhat limited, excluding issues such as cracked displays and cover glass, as well as display problems caused by water exposure. Pixel 9 Pro Fold users can also now enjoy a three-year extended warranty.
