Oppo starts new tech partnerships to bring AI to all models, expects rollout to 50M users this year

Oppo has confirmed its full dedication to bringing AI to all of its users in the future. According to the company, the plan will cover all the series under its brand, noting that it could reach up to 50 million users by the end of the year. To do this, the company revealed that it has just established new collaborations with other tech companies, including Google, MediaTek, Microsoft, and more.

The news came amid the ongoing plans of many smartphone brands to inject AI into their devices. Oppo is one of them, with an earlier report revealing the company’s decision to adopt the Google Gemini Ultra 1.0 into its devices.

At that time, speculations claimed that the company might only introduce its AI offerings to its flagship and high-end devices. Nonetheless, Oppo confirmed this week that each product in its lineup will experience the tech as well. Even more, the company has already assured that the Google Gemini is planned to be included in the Reno 12 series and the next-generation Find X flagship.

“With our relentless efforts and commitment, OPPO aims to make AI phones accessible to everyone, ” said Billy Zhang, President of Overseas MKT, Sales and Service at OPPO. “For the first time in the industry, OPPO is bringing generative AI to all product lines. By the end of this year, we expect to bring generative AI features to about 50 million users.”

Interestingly, the company has enlisted multiple tech giants to help it with its plans. According to Oppo, in addition to Google, Microsoft (which is also making noise in the AI race through its ChatGPT-powered Bing) and MediaTek will also aid in its goals.
