Honor 500 to arrive next month; GT 2 series tentatively scheduled for Q4 release

The release timelines of the Honor 500 and Honor GT 2 series have leaked online.

Honor will launch several new products before the year ends. According to earlier reports, it would include the Honor 500 and Honor GT 2 series. The former was earlier tipped to arrive in the last quarter of the year. Now, a new tip says that it could arrive as early as next month. According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, this is just a possibility, but he noted that the brand is now preparing it for another major certification.

As per reports, the Honor 500 Pro model could use a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and is said to have the largest battery in its class. In the camera department, the phone is expected to feature a 200MP 1/1.4″ main camera, which is allegedly paired with a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom.

According to DCS last month, the Honor 500 series would be “stronger” than the Honor 400 models. To recall, the Honor 400 is limited to an IP66 rating, while the Honor Pro has IP68 and IP69 ratings. This could mean that both the 500 and 500 Pro would soon offer the same high-protection ratings or higher.

Meanwhile, the GT 2 series, which has been discussed in earlier leaks, is reportedly being considered for a Q4 debut this year. Another tipster also echoed earlier information rumored about the lineup, including a possible Snapdragon 8 Elite chip (or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5), an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and a 9K battery. Honor is allegedly considering using a 165Hz refresh rate for the series’ display. The series is also believed to come with a maximum 24GB/1TB configuration.
