How to Unroot Android Devices – Easy Method

Android offers a lot of flexibility throughout the whole system and rooting your device plays a major role in it. To Unroot Android devices however has its own perks too since rooting may void your warranty and it certainly breaks the stock OTA updates. There are a few ways that you can unroot Android devices. The safest way to unroot Android devices is to use Magisk app, which is the only available rooting application and method nowadays. If you are rooted, this application is definitely a part of your system. Simply uninstalling this app however will not remove the root access. In order to remove it, go into Magisk app and click on Uninstall Magisk button that is located in the center of the app.

It will prompt you with two options, one being the complete uninstall and the other being restoring stock kernel image. Restoring stock kernel image may work in certain cases but it is not always available. If you get a toast message saying Stock backup does not exist when you hit Restore Images, you will need to hit Complete Uninstall. This option however will do a factory reset and encrypt your device if you are decrypted. If you do not mind losing all the data on the device, you may go ahead and use this option.

If you do not want to lose your data or get encrypted, you may prefer backing up your data beforehands or reflashing your ROM, which will replace the rooted kernel image with the stock one and unroot Android devices regardless but this is more advanced and not recommended if you do not know what you are doing. Download the stock ROM of your device, or a custom ROM if you prefer.
