The Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro are now official in China, and one of the main highlights of the two models is their capability to upload actual Live Photos on social media platforms.
Live Photos, first made popular by Apple iPhones, allow users to record seconds before and after the picture is taken. This way, Live Photos work like moving images, and you can also choose to edit them by using some effects, like stickers, filters, and text.
Oppo is bringing this capability to the Oppo 12 series. What makes these newly unveiled smartphones special, however, is that they are the first models to actually support uploading Live Photos on social media platforms. To recall, the feature is already supported by other Android models, but uploading them online will prevent them from moving, making them appear just like regular photos.
Now, that is about to change in the Oppo Reno 12 lineup, which recently arrived in China with a powerful camera system. According to Oppo, both phones boast 50MP selfie units and powerful rear camera systems. The Pro version comes with a set of 50MP main (IMX890, 1/1.56”), 50MP telephoto, and 8MP ultrawide in the back, while the standard model has a rear camera arrangement of 50MP main (LYT600, 1/1.95”), 50MP telephoto, and 8MP ultrawide.
